Kicks for a Cure funding also made it possible to conduct a Family Information Service (FIS) for one of Creighton's
hereditary multiple myeloma families. An FIS is held at a geographic location that enables as many family members
as possible to attend. It uses a friendly, informal setting to provide pertinent information about the
genetics, natural history, DNA testing options, cancer surveillance, and risk management of a family's hereditary cancer syndrome.
We are very appreciative that Creighton's Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health
was chosen to benefit from this inaugral event.
