Kicks for A Cure is extremely fortunate to bring together some of the country’s top women’s soccer teams and host such a talented group of players. We applaud each team for taking time from their busy spring schedules to join us in Omaha and thank each of the universities for supporting this event. 

Please take a moment to review thier accomplishments below. We hope you can join us to witness these talented athletes first hand and watch their kicks support a cure.

Women's NCAA teams
Creighton University
In 2010, host team Creighton had another successful season under the guide of Coach Bruce Erickson. They compiled a regular season record of 15 wins – 4 losses - 2 ties and a bid to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. They capture the 2010 MVC Tournament title with a 2-1 overtime win vs. Missouri State.

Four Creighton players were named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. Junior Alicia Montgomery and senior Claire Zach have been named to the first team Scholar-Athlete team, while juniors Kelly Connolly and Macy Mauer earn honorable mention accolades.

University of Nebraska - Lincoln
In 2010, The huskers had another winning season under the guide of Coach John Walker. They compiled a regular season record of 13 wins – 7 losses - 1 tie and a bid to the Big 12 Championship. They lost to Oklahoma State on Big 12 Championship Semifinals by the score of 2-3.

Nebraska placed eleven student-athletes on the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Soccer Team, giving head coach John Walker's squad a double-digit total for the third straight year. Nine of Nebraska's selections were First Team honorees. Leading that group was a trio of upperclassmen who earned their third consecutive award - junior Alexa Cardona, junior Katie Goetzmann and senior Anna White. In addition to White, senior classmates Colleen Goetzmann and Jaclyn White earned their second straight First Team accolade. The sophomore scoring duo of Morgan Marlborough and Jordan Jackson, both All-Big 12 First Team selections on the field, were each named to the First Team, as well as redshirt freshman goalkeeper Emma Stevens. Senior Michaella Fulmer and junior Blair Slapper were named to the Second Team, marking the third award for each.

Hastings College
In 2010, Broncos had record setting season under the guide of Coach Ted Flogaites. The Broncos close their regular season with 16 wins – 4 losses - 1 tie. Flogaites led the Broncos to the title game of the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship in just their second appearance in the event.

The women's soccer team added to their post season awards recently. Allison Kotschwar, a senior defender from Omaha, NE, Jesse Herse, a senior midfielder from Omaha, NE, and Jessica Carlson, a sophomore from Papillion, NE all received NSCAA Women's All Plains Region First Team. Kotschwar added to that a selection to the Third Team NSCAA / Performance Subaru NAIA Women's All-American Team. Kotschwar led a defense that had a conference low 8 goals against and 11 shutouts in 18 games.

University of Nebraska - Omaha
In 2010, The Mavs had another great season under the guide of Coach Don Klosterman. The Mavericks close their regular season with a 10-7-1 record overall and a 10-5-1 mark against MIAA competition. UNO finishes the regular season in third place in the MIAA behind Central Missouri and Truman State.

Goalkeeper Lauren Fox and forward Hilary Horvatic were named to the All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics second team for soccer today. Fox was an All-MIAA honorable mention last year while this is the first such honor for Horvatic.

Men's NCAA teams
Creighton University
In 2010, Creighton had another winning season under the guide of Coach Jamie Clark. They compiled a regular season record of 13 wins – 5 losses - 2 ties and a bid to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. They lost to Bradley by the score of 2-3.

Five Creighton men’s soccer players have been named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region Teams as voted on by member coaches. Junior forward Ethan Finlay, the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, and freshman defender Tyler Polak, the MVC Freshman of the Year, were named to the first team. Sophomore midfielders Dion Acoff and Greg Jordan were tabbed to the second team and sophomore midfielder Jose Gomez was honored on the third team.

Saint Louis University
In 2010, The Billikens had another great season under the guide of Coach Mike McGinty. The Billikens close their regular season with a 9 wins – 7 losses - 3 ties and advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship for the sixth straight year.

Five Saint Louis Billikens claimed Atlantic 10 men's soccer All-Conference honors. Sophomores Benny Estes, Michael Robson and Alex Sweetin were named second-team All-Conference, while freshman Jon Roeckle claimed All-Rookie accolades. Senior James Dice was named to the All-Academic squad.
